PDP Hosts Sambo As He Returns To Kaduna

The former Vice President Namadi Sambo has returned to Kaduna,  his home state from Abuja, after  the swearing in of Muhammadu Buhari as president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria on Friday.
The former Vice President, accompanied by his wife, Amina and personal aides, were  received at the Kaduna International Airport on Friday night  by the immediate past governor of  the state, Mukhtar Yero, members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and other political associates.
Speaking during a reception organized in his honour  by the state PDP at his camp road residence in the  state capital, Sambo described himself as the luckiest Nigerian  having served  as Vice President without going through  election, and later elected for another four years alongside the former president, Goodluck Jonathan.
He thanked the people of Kaduna state for their support to him and Dr. Jonathan throughout the period they served the country.
Present at the reception were the state PDP chairman, Abubakar Haruna, former Ministers, Director General of National Emergency Management Agency(NEMA) Mohammed Sani Sidi and party members.
Many women groups and musicians were on ground to give the ex-Vice President a rousing welcome.
While stating thanking God for sparing his life over the years he served as Nigeria’s number two citizen, Sambo  said despite being out of office, he will continue to work for the peace and development of the country at all time.
Some PDP leaders described Sambo as a great statesmen who has made Kaduna and the entire Northern region proud.
They assured to join hands with the former Vice President to rebuild the party ahead of 2019 elections.
Namadi Sambo was the Governor of Kaduna state between 2007 to 2010 when he was appointed as Vice President of Nigeria by the former president, Dr Goodluck Jonathan.
