The Code of Conduct Tribunal on Tuesday adjourned the trial of Senate President Bukola Saraki for two months. Danladi Umar, chairman of the tribunal, fixed January 11 for continuation of the asset declaration trial.
The adjournment came as the defence team concluded cross-examination of prosecution witness, Michael Wetkas.
Mr. Wetkas, an official of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, made his 14th appearance at the tribunal on Tuesday.
Mr. Saraki was accused of fraudulently declaring his asset before he became governor of Kwara State in 2003 and when he left office in 2011.
The top lawmaker, however, continued to fight his case in court, saying his decision to pursue his political ambition had earned him enemies who tried to pull him down.
