Valencia Fined For Bottle Thrown At Barcelona Players

CHANNELS TV
Valencia have been fined 1,500 euros after a plastic bottle was thrown from the stands at Barcelona players in a La Liga match.
The water bottle was thrown on Saturday into a cluster of the Spanish giants who were celebrating Lionel Messi’s winning goal as Valencia lost 2-3 to their visitors.
BBC says Luis Suarez and Neymar both fell to the floor after the bottle landed.
On his part, Messi turned to gesticulate and shout towards the area of the crowd where the bottle had come from.
Despite the sanction, the Spanish Football Federation also warned Valencia that it may close its Mestalla Stadium if similar incident happens.
The federation, however, criticised the Barcelona players for their “exaggerated reaction” and for celebrating in front of home fans.
Although it said “nothing justified” the reaction of the Valencia supporters, the football governing body praised Valencia for quickly identifying the fan who threw the bottle.
