Tragedy struck on Thursday in Igbogbo area of Ikorodu, Lagos as some suspected armed men allegedly killed the chairman of Muritala Mohammed International Airport taxi park, Mr Kennedy Uzor and other members of his family.
The incident, which occurred at Adegbose Estate Phase 2, threw the residents into confusion on what could have caused their death in such manner.
Some of the residents alleged that the assailants scaled the fence of the victims’ resident and forced their way into their room.
While the body of the deceased persons have been deposited in a mortuary in Ikorodu, the Commissioner of Police in Lagos, Fatai Owoseni, has condemned the alleged murder.
Picking Bits And Pieces
He gave Channels Television a hint of the efforts that are ongoing to find the killers.
“Attackers had gone into the house and killed the head of the family and from preliminary investigations, there were signs of some struggles.
“We found out that same assassins also killed two of the kids,” he said.
Mr Owoseni said investigation has begun and that those behind the gruesome murder would be brought to justice.
“We are just picking bits and pieces of information.
“A crime scene vehicle is being sent to the area to see how much of information, exhibits and things, bits and pieces, that can be recovered from that scene that will aid our investigation.
“Everything that we need to do will be done swiftly and we will follow all the lead that we can get to make sure that whoever carried out or sponsored that act do not go unpunished,” he added.
