The former England international, who spent a season at Eastlands, is hoping that his former club progress to the last four but he fears the worst.
Frank Lampard says that Manchester City "have a chance" of beating Paris Saint-Germainbut has warned Manuel Pellegrini's men that they will find things "tough" against a side he believes are capable of winning this season's Champions League.
City reached the quarter-finals of Europe's premier competition for the first time after recording a comfortable 3-1 victory over Dynamo Kiev in the last 16.
However, PSG looked far more impressive in seeing off English champions Chelsea, with their French counterparts progressing 4-2 on aggregate after triumphing 2-1 in both legs.
Indeed, Lampard fears for his old club as he feels Laurent Blanc's team have the makings to go all the way this year.
"Man City certainly have a chance, but it's a really tough game," the New York City FC midfielder told Goal.
"I was very, very impressed with PSG in the games against Chelsea and I think they’re a very strong team.
"I think Barcelona are by quite a bit the standout favourites for most people this year, but PSG have a real chance with the players they have."Manchester City have great individuals, so I hope as a person from England and having played with Man City for a year, that they do well.
"But it will be very tough for them."
