Nominees for appointment as Commissioners in Cross River State will be subjected to intense scrutiny.
A statement by the Special Assistant to the Governor on Media, Mr Christian Ita, confirmed this, saying the nominees will undergo a mandatory aptitude test before confirmation is granted.
The statement confirmed that they are not the only ones to take the test, as chairmen, members of boards, agencies and parastatals, and special advisers will follow the routine.
Cross River State Governor, Ben Ayade, expressed belief that all appointments in the state must be subjected to ethical measures.
He said that this is to ascertain if they can function in the new order, where transparency and accountability are the watchwords.
