Obiano Flags Off Aguleri-Otuocha-Umueri Airport Road

The fishing and agrarian community of Aguleri in Anambra East Local Government Area of Anambra State, came alive with the flag off of the 8.5 kilometer Aguleri-Otuocha-Umueri Airport dual carriageway.
Anambra State Governor, who also inspected the Aguleri –Uno oil rig road project, a 40 kilometer road and several bridges, expressed satisfaction with the pace and quality of work, reassuring the people of the State that the projects would boost economic activities in the State by the time the airport and the road projects are completed.
The governor, who was briefed by the contractor on the progress of the project, also expressed satisfaction with the pace and quality of work on the project, which, according to him, on completion would open up seven food producing communities in Anambra North.
While addressing the people after the inspection, the governor said the projects are in the interest of the people, especially the Airport project which when completed would have a depot for aviation fuel for international flights.
He announced a new partnership with a South African company that will boost electricity supply in the Omabala region and beyond.
The State Commissioner for Works, Calistus Ilozumba, said the state had secured approval from the Federal Government for the airport and had also acquired enough land for the project and therefore the road to the airport is very important.
The governor’s entourage moved to Nando From Aguleri, another food producing community in Anambra East local government area for the flag off of a 4.5  kilometer road, awarded at N1 billion.
The governor flagged off the project and assured the people that the contractors have been fully mobilized and the road is expected to be completed in one year.

The Anambra State government said the road construction will cost the sum of N5 billion.
