A non-governmental organisation, Nigeria Leadership Initiative, in partnership with First Bank of Nigeria Plc, has opened registration for a four-day Future Leaders Seminar, conceived as platform for grooming emerging Nigerian leaders home and abroad.
The seminar is scheduled to hold in May in Lagos where 25 young Nigerians, between 25-35 years, with “outstanding leadership attributes and accomplishments” from public and private sectors as well as civil society will be groomed to “assume transformative role in the future development of Nigeria.
In a statement, the NLI said, “The Future Leaders Seminar (FLS) is a four-day seminar conceived for emerging leaders in the public and private sectors as well as civil society Nigerian leaders between 25-35 years with outstanding leadership attributes and accomplishments in their respective fields.
“In the course of the seminar, the participants will have their leadership skills, knowledge and confidence significantly honed and enhanced in preparation for them to assume a transformative role in the future development of Nigeria. Case studies and active small group discussion sessions are an integral part of the Future Leaders Programme (FLP). The highpoint of the FLP is the FLS class project, which is a practical way of teaching social responsibility and inculcating the importance of ‘giving back’ to the society.”
Commenting on the Seminar, the Organisation’s Chief Executive Officer, Yinka Oyinlola stated that “An increasing number of NLI Associates in their various fields are now turning their success to significance as captains of industries, heads of organizations, reformers of institutions and influencers in key leadership positions in government, social and corporate market space”.
Oyinlola added, “NLI associates continue to exhibit value-based leadership in their spheres of endeavors with the promise to continue into the future to serve as a driving force for patriotism in Nigeria.”
According to FirstBank Group Head, Marketing & Corporate Communication, Folake Ani-Mumuney, “FirstBank is pleased to support this credible initiative to raise leaders who will go on to successfully man leadership positions in the private and public sectors as it is part of our business focus to empower our youth and build a better nation.”
Application is now open on the Organisation’s website and closes on March 11.
