The Minister of National Planning in Nigeria, Mr Abubakar Suleiman, has accused the Kwara State government of being corrupt.
The allegation has triggered war of words between the state government in western Nigeria and the Minister.
While addressing reporters in Ilorin few days ago, Mr Suleiman insisted that there were corrupt practices in the state, saying it had hampered development.
He accused the APC leaders, especially in Kwara State, of being corrupt.
Responding to the Minister’s claims, the State government on Tuesday denied the allegation, insisting that it is transparent.
The State Commissioner for Information, Tunji Moronfoye, denied the accusation, citing several due process being followed by the government in awarding contracts.
“Anti-graft agencies would have swooped on the state to investigate if the government was corrupt,” he said.
Mr Moronfoye asked the Minister to provide evidence instead of false accusation.
