Taraba State ban on campaigns still in place

news 24
Abuja - The Taraba State Police Command has appealed to politicians in the state to comply with the Independent National Electoral Commission's (INEC's) ban on political campaigns.
Police ordered the parties to desist from engaging in such activities and rallies pending the INEC lifting the suspension when it deemed it fit.
State Police Public Relation Officer (PPRO), Joseph Kwaji, made the appeal in Jalingo.

He beckoned politicians and their followers to adhere to the warning or be compelled to face the wrath of the law if found breaching the law.
“On no account should political party engage in any political campaign or rallies in the state, until the ban is lifted by INEC,” he said.
Kwaji added violators of the ban would be apprehended to face the wrath of the law.
“The ban on political activities in the state is still in force. Violators would be apprehended to face the wrath of the law. All political parties in the state are advised to adhere strictly to this order.”
He stressed the need for the public to always make available to the police useful information that would help police quell criminal activities in the state.
