Newcastle 3-3 Crystal Palace: Zaha rescues late point on Warnock debut

Wilfried Zaha’s injury-time equaliser capped a thrilling 3-3 draw between Newcastle United and Crystal Palace at St James’ Park.

Dwight Gayle’s goal in the opening minute handed Neil Warnock the perfect start after the 65-year-old was appointed as Palace’s new manager earlier this week but Newcastle were level before the break through Daryl Janmaat’s effort.

Jason Puncheon put Palace back in front three minutes after half-time but 18-year-old midfielder Rolando Aarons pulled Alan Pardew’s men level.

Mike Williamson looked to have secured three points for Newcastle with his goal two minutes before injury time but Zaha netted late on to secure Palace’s first point of the new season.
