EBOLA: Kaduna suspends holiday classes in schools

In the light of the Ebola epidemic, the Kaduna State government has immediately suspended all holiday/summer school classes going on in the state, the state commissioner of Education, Ahmed Ali, said Friday. Mr. Ali gave the directive at a meeting with all l head of schools in both government and private. “We are stopping the classes in order to control the coming together of our children because of the Ebola pandemic. The state government said it has noticed that many school in the state are taking the holiday classes, hence they should desist until the government announces otherwise,” he said. Last week, the federal government announces the extension of schools resumption date to curtail the spread of the Ebola fever. Nigeria recorded it fifth Ebola death in Port Harcourt, the capital of Rivers State, renewing fears of a wide spread of the killer disease. Liberian- American Patrick Sawyer brought the virus into Nigeria.
