Senate Swears In Rivers Senators, Ajourns Till 2017

Senate President Bukola Saraki has sworn in three newly elected federal lawmakers from Rivers state.
The Senators, Magnus Abe, George Sekibo and Osinakachukwu Ideozu, emerged winners in a highly contested and violent senatorial rerun election which took place on December 10, 2016.
Saraki after congratulating the newly sworn in Senators said: “they just came from a tough election
Mr Abe represents Rivers South East, Sekibo, Rivers East, while Ideozu, would be for Rivers West.
The seats for the three senatorial districts have been vacant for nearly a year after a court of appeal ordered the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), to conduct a rerun election in the state.
Meanwhile, the Senate has now adjourned sitting till January 10, 2017.
