CHANNELS TV
The Nigerian military has vowed that it will not rest on its laurels until the Niger Delta and the Northeast regions are declared safe.
The Chief Of Air Staff, Air Marshall Sadiq Abubakar made the pledge in Yenagoa, the capital of Bayelsa State during the commissioning of some projects at the Airforce mini-base.
His comments are coming at a period the nation is reeling out of heightened insurgency in the northeast and facing resurgence of militant activities in the south-south region which has affected the nation’s economy that largely depends on sales of crude oil.
The insurgency in the North-east region, has caused many deaths as well as left over two million persons displaced.
However, with the implementation of the new “Operation Delta Safe” which is aimed at ending militancy in the South-south region, Air Marshall Abubakar solicited the support of the people of the Niger Delta and the North West to ensure its success.
