Army Confirms Death of Soldiers Along Brass River

The Nigerian Army has confirmed the death of two soldiers along the water front in Brass Local Government Area of Bayelsa State, South South Nigeria.
Acting spokesman for 2 Brigade, Nigerian Army, Port Harcourt, Rivers State said that the two soldiers who died in a boat mishap were part of “Operation Crocodile Smile”.
Some residents told Channels Television that efforts to rescue the soldiers failed due to the high tide.
Meanwhile, the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Tukur Burutai, told newsmen in Port Harcourt, Rivers State that the military operation should not be mistaken for an invasion.
