Anambra people resident in Abuja and nearby northern states have hailed Governor Willie Obiano for his performance and inclusive style of government in the state.
This was during an interactive programme tagged, ‘An Evening With His Excellency’, at Transcorp Hilton, Abuja, where Governor Willie Obiano interfaced with the people on his administrative journey so far in Anambra State.
The Governor was of the belief that two years on, and in keeping to the mandate of impacting positively on the people, it was imperative for him to present himself and his administrative activities to the people for assessment.
Relaying his activities to the audience, Governor Willie Obiano touched on his four-point administrative blueprint of Agriculture, Trade and Commerce, Oil and Gas and Industrialization, as well as the 12 enablers including security, health, education, environment among others. He proudly announced that the state had excelled.
In the area of security, the Governor told the people how he, along with all the security agencies in the state, attacked the command and control centers of kidnappers, armed robbers and other violent criminals.
He talked about how he created Operation Kpochapu, donated smart patrol cars to the Police and gun boats to the Navy and launched aerial surveillance of the state during the yuletide.
He went on to present the new vision he has for the state.
The Governor’s presentation and the documentary video of his exploits in the state prompted commendation from the people.
For the former Minister of Education, Mrs Obiageli Ezekwesili and the former Chairman of Police Service Commission, Mr Simon Okeke, evidence-based policies and prudent management of resources have prevailed in Anambra State and have set the state on the path of more successes.
The programme availed the people the opportunity of asking questions on grey areas to which they also received explanations from the Governor.
Governor Obiano, having earlier held similar interactive programmes in Anambra and Lagos, again, solicited support and partnership from all for the development of the state in the face of economic challenges.
The Deputy Governor, Dr. Nkem Okeke, who also addressed the gathering, restated the difficulty in the governance process but stated that against all odds, Anambra was still on the rise.
He urged the audience to always judge the Governor constructively.
