Niger State Governor, Mr Abubakar Sani Bello, on Friday said Nigeria’s prosperity in the years ahead is uncompromisingly dependent on ‎the unity and peaceful co-existence of all the federating units.
This was contained in his New Year message issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr Jibrin Baba Ndace in Minna, the Niger State capital.
Governor Bello called on the people to pray for the sustenance of peace and unity in the country stressing that “our collective prosperity as a nation and as a people is uncompromisingly dependent on the unity and peaceful co-existence of the people”.
He called on all Nigerians to shun mischief and unproductive activities that were capable of causing disaffection among the people and jeopardising the existing cordial and relatively peaceful atmosphere enjoyed in the country.
The governor also assured the people of the state that the policies and programmes of his administration in the New Year would be people oriented, with a promise to stay focused and committed to service delivery that will improve their condition and standard of living.
Governor Bello acknowledged that last year was tough, in terms of security and other economic challenges, he however expressed optimism that the situations would surmounted in the New Year.
He then urged Nigerlites to be tolerant and committed to the collective ideals that would make the New Year a promising and fulfilled one.
“As I wish Nigerlites a blissful New Year, I want to reiterate that my administration is going to work hard in the coming years to bring developmental projects towards the rapid socio-economic well-being of the people”.
While assuring of synergy and harmonious working relationship among the three Arms of Government, Governor Bello also enlisted the support of traditional rulers and other relevant stakeholders in the collective desire to move the state forward.
