Adamawa Government Dispatches Assessment Team To Madagali

The Adamawa State Government has sent an assessment team to Madagali after a twin suicide bombing left 17 people dead and 41 others injured.
The development came as the Adamawa State Commissioner for Information, Mr Ahmad Sajoh, said that the government has directed free treatment for the injured.
Mr Sajoh appealed to residents to be more vigilant to prevent such attacks and report suspicious movements and objects to security agencies.
The Commissioner added that the State Government would intensify enlightenment campaign programmes in the area to reawaken the people on security consciousness.
Two female suicide bombers on Monday, detonated a bomb in a market in Madagali, Madagali Local Government Area of Adamawa State.
Military sources said that the situation in the town was calm and residents were going about their businesses undisturbed.
Shortly after the attack, the Brigade Commander, 28 Task Force Brigade, Brigadier General Victor Ezugu, said that those injured were evacuated to the 143 Rangers Battalion military facility in Madagali and the general hospital in Mubi while those with critical cases were moved to Yola‎ for immediate attention.
