I Visited Maiduguri On A Fact Finding Mission – Osinbajo

The Federal Government is assessing the extent of damage in parts of the northeast by the Boko Haram insurgents that has killed and rendered thousands of people homeless.
Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo, during a one day working visit to Maiduguri, the Borno State capital said the Federal Government is committed to rebuilding and resettling Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs).
Osinbajo said he visited Maiduguri on a fact finding mission on the insistence of President Muhammad Buhari and also to have a first hand assessment of the living condition of the IDPs.
He told IDPs at the Dalori Camp that the government is leaving no stone unturned to ensure the quick end to insurgency and their early return to their various communities.
He met a number of bomb victims hospitalized at the University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital (UMTH).
Osinbajo also met the Shehu of Borno and held close door meeting with other stakeholders in the State.
Vice President Osinbajo was accompanied by the Director General of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), Mohammed Sani Sidi.
Borno State Governor, Mr Kashim Shettima, expressed delight with the show of concern by the Federal Government toward IDPs in the State.
