'Sharknado 3': The tweets, the cameos, the crazy

(CNN)   You thought "Sharknado 3: Oh Hell No!" couldn't get any crazier than the previous ones?
Think again.
From sharks descending on the Daytona racetrack to a clever, irony-filled scene featuring "Game of Thrones" creator George R.R. Martin, the latest in the Syfy channel's wildly popular franchise didn't lose any bite when it aired Wednesday night.
Honestly, what's not to love about a film featuring tornadoes of flying, man-eating sharks, Mark Cuban and Ann Coulter as the president and vice president of the United States, and nods to everything from "Jaws" (of course) to "White House Down"?
Twitter seemed to love it, with famous fans and co-stars also weighing in. Let's be honest: This one will never win any awards, but the "so bad it's good" theme was consistent, and the level of camp was high. Even David Hasselhoff showed up!
Fans especially loved "Game of Thrones" creator Martin, who is famous for killing off beloved characters, getting his comeuppance by being devoured while watching a shark movie.
Coulter, the controversial conservative pundit, appeared as the vice president while Dallas Mavericks owner Cuban played the president. Viewers got to follow along with live tweets from the unverified Twitter account linked to Coulter's website.
There was a bit of a cliffhanger when Tara Reid's character gave birth inside a shark, cut herself out and then maybe died. Fans got to use hashtags #AprilLives or #AprilDies and vote online to determine her fate. It will be revealed in "Sharknado 4," which Variety reports is a go.
But where can it go now that it's conquered the West Coast, the Big Apple and, most recently, space?
"I want to do international," director Anthony C. Ferrante told Variety of the next movie's location. "There are still U.S. cities that I want to destroy. But it's less about the cities, and it's more about, what are we going to do with Ian (Ziering) and Tara, and what genres do we want to play with?"
