KANO PILLARS 4-1 GIWA

Kano Pillars pummelled Giwa FC 4-1 on Thursday to obliterate the nine-match unbeaten streak of the Jos Elephant and also fire themselves back to reckoning in their attempt to win a fourth straight league title.

Rabiu Ali scored two penalty kicks after he dusted himself up to take two spot kicks in the sixth and 39th minutes after he was adjudged to have been tripped in the 18 yard box by Giwa FC goalkeeper, Friday Achimugwu and Ibrahim Akide in that order.
Adamu Mohammed also got a brace of his own in the encounter after he netted in the 13th minute and towards the end of the match.
The first of his two goals was a delight to behold after he cleverly chipped Giwa FC goalkeeper, Achimugwu. He has scored three goals in five league matches for Sai Masugida and a goal in their futile Federation Cup campaign.
Pillars are third on the log with 21 points from 12 matches and they must be at their best ahead of another blockbuster trip to Akure as guests of Sunshine Stars on Sunday.
Giwa FC have gone down to joint fifth along with FC IfeanyiUbah with 20 points from 12 matches after the hammering in the hands of Pillars.
Before the defeat in Kano, Giwa FC have only lost a game only in the top flight to Warri Wolves in Week 2 but they were totaling outclassed at the Sani Abacha Stadium on Thursday.

FC TARABA 1-2 WIKKI TOURISTS

The Jalingo Boys suffered their second home loss of the season after they allowed the Abdu Maikaba-tutored Wikki to claim maximum points in Makurdi

Wikki Tourists gave their continental ambition a big boost in Makurdi after they defeated hosts, FC Taraba 2-1 in a tantalizing NPFL Week 12 tie decided at the Aper Aku Stadium on Thursday.

The Jalingo Boys had to seek solace in Makurdi after the League Management Company(LMC) placed a ban on the Jolly Nyame Stadium in Jalingo and directed them to look for alternative playing turf that has the league body's approval.
Wikki scored two goals, one in each half through Samuel Chukwudi and Godwin Obaje in the 21st and 62nd minutes of the encounter and FC Taraba's best was reducing the tally as they stuttered to another loss in the top flight.
The win has taken the Bauchi side to fourth on the log with 21 points from 12 matches as they secured their second away win of the season after their 2-1 conquest of Abia Warriors in Umuahia during NPFL Week 4 tie.

SUNSHINE STARS 2-1 WARRI WOLVES
The Akure Gunners returned to the top of the league on Thursday evening after a last gasp strike struck by Kingsley Udoh in the dying minute of the encounter played against Warri Wolves at the Akure Township Stadium.
Sunshine, third before the start of the encounter, were shocked when the visitors’ Ikechukwu Ibenegbu capitalized on a defensive blunder to shoot the Seasiders into the lead in the 12th minute but another defender, Stephen Eze atoned for the defensive gaffe after he nodded home the equalizer in the 28thminute.
Udoh, another defender, ensured that the home team secured all points when he banged home the second goal few seconds to the end of the tie when Warri Wolves lost concentration at the back.
Sunshine are on top with 23 points from 12 matches and will face a tough duel to hold on to the top spot when they face Kano Pillars in Akure on Sunday.

FC IFEANYI UBAH 1-0 DOLPHINS
The revered Anambra Warriors added to the misery of the Pride of Rivers after they defeated them 1-0 at their new home, Rojenny International Sports Complex, Oba near Onitsha on Wednesday.
Solomon Enudi’s goal in the 30thminute was good enough for the maximum points and the victory has taken the club to fourth on the log with 20 points from 12 matches at least till Thursday night when the concluding three matches are played.

SHARKS 0-0 EL KANEMI WARRIORS
The Blue Angels still found it hard to win their home games and their form on the road has been far from impressive too. Sharks drew another home game at the Liberation Stadium in Port Harcourt on Wednesday against El Kanemi Warriors and they are now last on the log with pitiable 10 points from 12 games.
The latest result will no doubt increase the scrambling for the job of Daboere Dokubo who replaced Gbenga Ogunbote after the latter crossed to 3SC recently.

The management of Sharks has disclosed that a new technical adviser may be sought for if results do not improve - and they will take on Wikki Tourist in their next game in Bauchi.

ENYIMBA 2-0 HEARTLAND
The People’s Elephant have got the bragging rights they deserved from their neighbours and oriental brothers, Heartland FC after they thrashed the beleaguered Naze Millionaires 2-0 at the Enyimba International Stadium, Aba on Wednesday.
Goals off the boots of Chinonso Okonkwo and Christian Obiozor gave the Aba side the leverage they deserved and they are now on top of the league table with 22 points from 12 games. That may however change on Thursday evening if Sunshine Stars beat Warri Wolves in a tough Week 12 tie in Akure.
Enyimba will fancy their chances when they tackle 3SC in Ibadan as they strive to protect their five match unbeaten run in the league in the next league game. 3SC are rejuvenated with the acquisition of Gbenga Ogunbote and some new players.

BAYELSA UNITED 0-0 3SC
The Oluyole Warriors have succeeded in capturing their second road point of the season after they battled home side Bayelsa United to a goalless draw at the Oghara Township Stadium on Wednesday.
3SC put the acrimony over the eligibility of their striker, Ajani Ibrahim aside as they held on in the tensed game. They have accumulated 12 points from 11 games. They are 15thon the log.
But Bayelsa United have compounded their woes as they have slumped to 19thon the log with only 11 points from as many games. The management of the club has moved swiftly to slash the salaries of the players by half for improvement in results. They face Nasarawa United next this weekend.

LOBI STARS 2-1 NASARAWA UNITED
These are trying times for the Makurdi side but they managed to secure their second home win of the season at the expense of Nasarawa United at the Aper Aku Stadium on Wednesday after Abdulrahman Bashir’s late minute stunner.
It was the same Bashir that accounted for their first league win of the season after he netted the only goal against Heartland few weeks ago. Akeiche put Lobi Stars in the driver’s seat in the first half but Leonard Ugochukwu managed to level proceeding in the 65thminute before Bashir’s last laugh for the hosts in the 85thminute.
Lobi are 16thon the log with 12 points from 12 matches and they tackle Kwara United next in a tight encounter slated for Ilorin this weekend.

ENUGU RANGERS 1-0 ABIA WARRIORS
The Flying Antelopes had to endure another difficult time in the home game against Abia Warriors before a last gasp goal through Chisom Egbuchulam fetched vital three points to the almost dispirited fans of the club.
The tie was going the way of last season when the Umuahia side picked a draw in Enugu before Egbuchulam struck in the dying minute of the encounter. It was Imama Amapakabor’s first win at the helms since his appointment as head coach recently. Rangers are 12thon the log with 14 points from 12 matches. They will face Warri Wolves in the next game in Warri this weekend.
