Residents in the three most affected states say they are lovers of peace but unfortunately, their communities have become a hotbed of violence.
At the regional peace conference, which attracted about a hundred people from the three north-east states and stakeholders from the academia and Civil Society Groups, participants shared experiences and disclosed efforts made so far to help victims.
Some of the persons that spoke at the conference were the President, American University of Nigeria and the Governor of Adamawa State and Udo Jacob, who was the resource person.
The insecurity in Nigeria’s north east remains a great concern, locally and internationally.
The Red Cross association said that the number of Internally Displaced Persons, as a result of attacks by the Boko haram sect in the north east, has reached 400,000.
There has been growing call by the government to the international community to help strengthen Nigerian government initiative in the fight against terrorism but how much result this has yielded so far remains the big question.
