Two suspected kidnappers have been killed in a gun battle with the Benue State police command during a search operation in Otukpo, a town in the state.
The suspects were killed in their hideout following an exchange of gunfire in the process. Commissioner of Police in the state, Omololu Bishi, disclosed this to journalists on Thursday while parading 16 suspects who were arrested in connection with other criminal activities in the state.
The police also declare four persons suspected to be behind last week’s political protest by youths in Gboko over the suspension of the local government chairman, Becky Orpin and five other chairmen.
