IGP Orders Investigative Panel To Probe Navy, Police Clash

The Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Idris, has ordered an independent panel to investigate the recent clash between the Nigeria Police and Navy clash.
Following the clash, two officers were reported dead while others wounded are currently receiving treatment.
According to the IG, the recommendations of the report will be followed and those behind the unfortunate incident will be severely punished to serve as a deterrent to others.
The Deputy Inspector General of Police, in the South-South States, Mr Emmanuel Inyang, represented the IG in Calabar, the Cross River State capital to commemorate with his men and those of the Navy on the unfortunate incident.
He also inspected the half burnt down Akim Police Barracks and also visited victims of both the Police and the Navy at their various hospitals in the company of the Commander, Nigeria Navy Ship Victory.
Addressing officers of the Command, he urged them to remain law abiding regardless and prevent reprisal attacks.
