Following the completion of the tenure of the present leadership of the Badminton Federation of Nigeria (BFN), Professor Faruk Haruna has indicated interest in the seat of BFN President.
Mr Haruna who is the Provost of the College of Education Minna, said he has all it takes to lead the BFN to a high level.
If elected, he promised that he would encourage mass participation through community effort, development of badminton in schools across Nigeria and also provision of financial interventions for high profile Athletes.
He also promised to enhance financial activities of the board through sponsorship drive, among others.
Mr Haruna who is a professor of Physical Education and a sports director has served in many capacities including one-time Director of Sports ABU Zaria.
According to him, during his tenure, he used his office to raise N600 million to build a befitting sports arena and stadium which is still in use.
Going by his accomplishments, the former Chairman, Kaduna State Badminton Association, Mr Mohammed Sodangi endorsed Mr Harua, describing him as an accomplished sportsman who can change the face of Badminton in Nigeria.
