Gaidam Reviews Damaturu Curfew, Now 6PM To 7AM

The Yobe State Government has reviewed the 24 hour curfew imposed on the state capital, Damaturu, following discussions with heads of law enforcement agencies in the State, a statement by the Special Adviser Press Affairs and Information Governor, Abdullahi Bego said.

“As from Wednesday 3rd December 2014, the curfew will start from 6.00PM to 7.00AM daily”.
Members of the general public can therefore move freely between the hours of 7AM and 6.00PM as the curfew will start from 6.00PM daily.
The statement also noted that “going forward, the curfew hours will be reviewed further on the basis of recommendations from the heads of law enforcement agencies in the State.
Members of the general public are kindly advised to comply with the new curfew hours.

The governor also urged members of the public to continue to extend their support and cooperation to security agents in their effort to ensure peace and security in the State.
