The Nigerian Army has indicated interest in investing in the Obudu Ranch Resort and repositioning it into a world-class facility that would yield profit.
The Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian Army Properties Limited, General Umaru Mohammed (rtd), indicated the military’s interest in the resort during a meeting with the Cross River State Governor, Ben Ayade, at the Government House in the state’s capital, Calabar.
He said that the investment would entail creation of access both by air and land as well as communication facilities.
General Muhammed is optimistic that the investment will open up the facility and attract the desired traffic from within and outside Nigeria to enhance its economic status.
The General maintained that the essence of the investment and business was to add value to the Army.
Governor Ayade was excited about the new Nigerian Army’s decision. He welcomed the idea and said he looked forward to the conclusion of agreements.
According to him, the partnership, when consummated, would open new vista of opportunities for the state and the people.
