The Zamfara State Government says it will not relent in tackling the persistent attack on the state by armed bandits.
Governor Abdul’aziz Yari who was represented by the Secretary to the state governor, Abdullahi Muhammad, disclosed this during a stakeholder meeting with the Inspector General of Police, Mohammad Adamu, on Tuesday.
He described the killing of innocent people as inhuman and noted that the state will work together with security agencies to fight the menace. Mr. Muhammad expressed concern over the houses, farms, and the number of people kidnapped during the attack.
He commended the directive by the Federal Government to suspend mining activities in the state, which he believes will bring an end to the violence.
The meeting between the stakeholders, state government and the IGP is aimed at finding a lasting solution to the killings.
