The Borno State Police command has confirmed an attack by suspected Boko Haram insurgents in Chibok Local Government Area.
Commissioner of Police, Damian Chukwu, who confirmed the attack said the force is still gathering facts about the incident which occurred on Thursday evening.
Eyewitnesses also told Channels Television that the suspected insurgents attacked Gatamwarwa ward, riding on motorcycles around 5:00 pm through Askira, shooting sporadically and leaving many villagers scampering for safety.
It is, however, yet to be clear if there were any casualties.
