Idrissa Gueye will not be leaving Everton in the current transfer window, Sky sources understand.
PSG were expected to make contact with Everton again on Wednesday night, but had been unwilling to improve their initial offer of £21.5m for the Senegal international. It is understood Everton will not let the midfielder leave. James McCarthy will also be staying put, despite reported interest from Crystal Palace.
Gueye's future at Everton had been in doubt after he was understood to have handed in a transfer request in a bid to secure a move to Paris Saint-Germain. Everton denied they received an official transfer request from the Senegal international.
Arsenal and Manchester City also held an interest in former Lille midfielder Gueye, Sky Sports News understands. But Unai Emery has admitted Arsenal would only be able to bring in loan signings this month, while Pep Guardiola has ruled out any January arrivals.
