I Was Called Ugly While Performing, Omo Baba Shares His Most Embarrassing Moment

Channels Tv
Standup comedian, Olufemi Fagade, popularly known as Omo Baba, has said that his most embarrassing moment was when a fan branded him as being ugly while on stage.
He revealed this on Saturday while appearing as a guest artiste on Channels Television’s Sunrise.
“I will never forget the ‘nite of a thousand laugh 2004’. I went on stage after my introduction, I forgot all my lines. One guy sat at the front and was calling me: “O boy you ‘woh woh’, loud.
“I mean it was so loud and it now worsened the situation that I had forgotten my jokes. He now topped it up with what I have not seen. I have never seen myself as being ugly before,” he said. The comedian whose career has spanned over 10 years recalled that he started out as a gospel artiste in church.
Born into a strict Christian home, the comedian explained that he chose his stage name because he acknowledges God as the brain behind his success. Omo Baba explained that he plans working more to discovering more talents for the comedy industry.

PDP Will Be Put In ‘Dustbin Of History’, Says APC

Channels Tv
The All Progressives Congress (APC) has faulted Atiku Abubakar’s endorsement by leaders of the Ohanaeze Ndi Igbo, Northern Elders Forum, Pan-Niger Delta forum, the Middle Belt Forum, and a faction of Afenifere.
According to a statement by the APC’s official spokesman and director, strategic communications, Festus Keyamo, the party expressed confidence that the PDP will be put in the ‘Dustbin of History’ by Nigerians after the general elections are over.
“We are confident that in a few days’ time, the PDP will be put where it rightly belongs by the good people of Nigeria – the dustbin of history”.

PRESS RELEASE BY APC PRESIDENTIAL CAMPAIGN COUNCIL
ON
PDP: ITS VOODOO ENDORSEMENTS AND VOODOO PROJECTIONS
We read, with amusement, two developments in the Press today which underscore the desperate situation Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) finds itself right now. These developments are:
(1) The so-called PDP-induced ‘endorsement’ of its candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar by a few individuals claiming, albeit falsely, to represent their respective regions. These are PANDEF, Northern Elders’ Forum (NEF), Ohaneze Ndigbo, a tiny fraction of Afenifere and Middle Belt Forum.
(2) Certain projections by a section of the Press that give the impression that Alhaji Atiku Abubakar is in some kind of a tight race with President Muhammadu Buhari in respect of the 2019 Presidential election.
Firstly, as regards the endorsements by the above-named socio-cultural groups, there is no fraud bigger than that of known PDP members and/or hardened PDP sympathizers wearing the apparel of socio-cultural groups, purporting to represent entire regions and endorsing their own political party.
The impression given through these endorsements that PDP is expanding its support base is also an attempt to deceive Nigerians because these are groups that supported PDP in 2015 and lost the election along with PDP.
Therefore, their excuse that they are supporting Alhaji Atiku Abubakar because of the bogey called ‘restructuring’ is nothing but a subterfuge. In any case, Ohaneze had said in its earlier release that the first reason they are endorsing Atiku Abubakar is that his running mate is an Ibo man.
In the past, it used to be that some of these individuals have used the names of these groups and platforms to purport to represent their people and as such enjoyed huge government patronage. The proceeds of this patronage have never trickled down to their people they purport to represent but ended up in their pockets and benefitted only their immediate families.
This is in perfect tune with the campaign promise of Atiku Abubakar to enrich only his friends. Therefore, like bees and honey, these people and Atiku Abubakar are attracted to themselves.
Unfortunately for them, President Muhammadu Buhari has managed to navigate his way directly to the masses who they purport to represent and is ensuring that the dividends of democracy reach the people directly. Their annoyance is that they have been eliminated as middlemen. That is why the bond between the masses and President Muhammadu Buhari continue to grow on a daily basis.
The curious question we ask is that, where were these social-cultural groups all these years when the PDP squandered our resources and failed to develop critical infrastructure in their respective regions?
Are they saying that they are satisfied with the level of developments of infrastructure in their respective regions during the 16 years of PDP rule? Where is the outrage of these socio-cultural groups as the Buhari administration has so far recovered from PDP members and their allies a total of nearly N800billion, 407 mansions, 259 automobiles, farmlands, filling stations, etc – all belonging to the Nigerian people? Where is their outrage?
Instead, they are endorsing these same set of people who perpetrated this evil against the Nigerian people.
Secondly, as to the voodoo percentages allocated to Alhaji Atiku Abubakar in some voodoo projections by some media houses (which should have since changed their crests to the umbrella – the symbol of the PDP), it is laughable to see them project a tight race between President Muhammadu Buhari and Alhaji Atiku Abubakar. For instance, we note with amusement the clear lead given to Alhaji Atiku Abubakar in the South-East, just because his running mate is from the region, but fail to see that same clear advantage given to President Buhari in the South-West from where the Vice-President comes.
It is also fraudulent to project the reduction in the advantage the President has always enjoyed in his traditional base, but fail to see the massive inroads the President has also made into the traditional bases of the PDP.
These and many other funny and fraudulent projections are what we know the PDP is using to prepare the ground to rubbish the electoral process which its leaders know is an insurmountable mountain for them to climb. They are, therefore, going for broke.
We want to alert Nigerians to be firm and unwavering in their resolve not to go back to the vomit which they spewed forth in the shape of PDP in 2015. Nigerians have seen through the PDP and its Presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar (who has been described by his former employer in the most debasing language ever found on print) and Nigerians can no longer be deceived.
We are confident that in a few days’ time, the PDP will be put where it rightly belongs by the good people of Nigeria – the dustbin of history.
Thank you.

How Adeboye Called, Prayed For Me Before Helicopter Crash — Osinbajo

Channels Tv
Vice President Yemi Osinbajo has revealed how he survived the accident on Saturday, just after the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) Enoch Adeboye prayed for him.
Twenty-four hours after surviving a helicopter accident in Kabba, Kogi State, Vice President Professor Yemi Osinbajo held a thanksgiving service in Lokoja, the state capital. At the service, the Vice President narrated how Pastor Adeboye appeared to have foreseen the danger ahead and committed his safety into God’s hands.
“On Friday, we went to (RCCG) camp; usually, I attend our Holy Ghost service. We came in very late from Akwa Ibom State. We arrived just in time for the grace at the end of the service. After that, our daddy in the Lord, (G.O) Pastor Adeboye, wanted to speak to me.
“He asked me how things were going on, the campaign activities and all that, and I explained everything; what I was doing on the campaign trail and all of that, some of the challenges. He (Adeboye) then said I am going to pray for you.
“He said a prayer that turned out to be very interesting because usually, as you know, he doesn’t pray for long.
“He said “Lord God Almighty, I want you to protect this man. You know how very dear he is to my heart. I want you to protect him. I found it very funny that he repeated it several times and then he prayed for a favour and other things,” VP Osinbajo narrated. He went on to testify of how the helicopter conveying him and his team to a campaign rally in Kogi crash-landed with everyone coming out unhurt. He thanked God for sparing his life and that of the others who were on board.
Also speaking on the matter, the Senior Special Assistant to the VP on Media and Publicity, Laolu Akande, thanked God for safety, and also thanked Nigerians for their concern and prayers. He said, “We are thankful to God for his deliverance and safety. The Vice President is not only thankful to God, but to all Nigerians who have expressed concern, affection and prayers.
“The Vice President is continuing with his schedule in Kogi and from there, he will go back to Abuja, and go to other places, to continue his ‘Next Level’ engagements with Nigerians”. A full-scale investigation and report are expected within the coming days.

‘I Will Continue To Do My Best, My Objective Is Clear’ – Buhari

Channels Tv
President Muhammadu Buhari has reiterated his commitment to the country, saying that his objective is clear and he will continue to do his best as the President of the country.
The President stated this when he received some retired Army Generals, Admirals, Marshals and former Military Governors/administrators in a courtesy call at State House, on Monday in Abuja.
He said, “God has made this country great. We have human and material resources, and may God continue to give us the right leaders. My objective is very clear, and I will continue to do my best.
“We have no other country but Nigeria. We will stay here and salvage it together,” President Buhari noted that even if one was blessed enough to send children for training abroad, “after such training, they will still have to come back here. We must, therefore, give our best for our country. The patriotism imbued in us by the military will ever remain relevant. Let’s do our best for this country.”
Describing Nigeria as “a fabulous country,” the President said if it was not so, “the country could not have survived the damage done to it materially and morally in the past,” glorifying God that after 30 months civil war, with over two million lives lost, “we are still one country.”
President Buhari prayed that Nigeria would not lack people who can exploit its human and material resources, adding: “The higher you go in Nigeria, the hotter it becomes, and not the other way round. But I can’t complain. I tried so hard to be here three times, ending up at the Supreme Court. So, I can’t complain over anything I am going through now.”
He described the military as an institution that gives amazing opportunities to know the country, its different peoples and cultures, “and I am very grateful that you have claimed me back as one of your own. I was governor of North-east, which is now six states, Minister of Petroleum for over three years, head of state; I was arrested and detained, but did not lose my rank, because nothing was found against me.”
The leader of the delegation, Brigadier-General Buba Marwa, who was military governor in Borno, and later military administrator of Lagos State, said the retired top officers thought it right to visit the President, “to say that you have represented your constituency very well. You announced a simple three-point agenda upon the assumption of office namely security; fighting corruption, and the economy. You have kept your words as an officer and a gentleman.”
Gen Marwa added: “We the retired armed forces officers, representing 99.9% of our colleagues say that we are proud of you; proud to be associated with your administration; and proud to witness this era of Nigeria rising again under your able leadership. We support you fully and totally in the presidential elections next week and will do whatever we can within the law to contribute to your emergence as the victor in the election in order to take Nigeria to the next level.”
The most senior of the retired officers, Vice Admiral Jubrila Ayinla, a former Chief of Naval Staff, who said future generations would acquit President Buhari “most creditably,” added: “On behalf of the generals here today, I congratulate you on the tremendous work done by this administration, and wish to state unequivocally that we are proud of you and fully behind you in the presidential elections next week. We pledge our full support and continued loyalty.”
The delegation was made of one Vice Admiral, two Lt-Generals, 15 Major Generals, two Rear Admirals, eight Air Vice-Marshals, 12 Brigadier-Generals, three Commodores, nine Air Commodores, and 17 former military governors/administrators, among others.

Let Witches And Wizards Endorse Atiku If They Like – Adesina

Channels Tv
Mr Femi Adesina has dismissed the endorsement of the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar, by some groups in the country.
The Special Adviser to President Muhammadu Buhari on Media and Publicity said this via his Twitter handle on Monday, less than two weeks to the general elections. His comments followed Atiku’s endorsement by some socio-cultural groups, including the Northern Elders’ Forum (NEP), Afenifere, and Ohanaeze Ndigbo, among others. Adesina, however, insisted that the President was not perturbed by the actions of the groups, saying his principal would emerge victorious at the poll.
NEF, PANDEF, Afenifere, others endorse Atiku. Let witches and wizards also endorse, if they like. The harder they come, the harder they fall. No beating the Nigerian people.
696 people are talking about this

Meanwhile, a group of retired Army generals, admirals, marshals and former military governors/administrators visited the President at the State House. According to Adesina, a former military administrator of Lagos State, Brigadier-General Buba Marwa, who led the delegation said the retired top officers thought it right to visit the President to say he represented his constituency well.
“You announced a simple three-point agenda upon assumption of office namely security; fighting corruption, and the economy. You have kept your words as an officer and a gentleman,” Marwa was quoted as saying in a statement by the President’s spokesman. He added, “We the retired armed forces officers, representing 99.9% of our colleagues say that we are proud of you; proud to be associated with your administration; and proud to witness this era of Nigeria rising again under your able leadership.
“We support you fully and totally in the presidential elections next week and will do whatever we can within the law to contribute to your emergence as the victor in the election in order to take Nigeria to the next level.”
President Buhari, on his part, reiterated his main objective in contesting elections four times and ending up in Supreme Court three times, before he finally won the election in 2015. He prayed that Nigeria would not lack people who can exploit its human and material resources.

Ezekwesili Apologises To Nigerians For Withdrawing From Presidential Race

Channels Tv
Former presidential candidate of the Allied Congress Party of Nigeria (ACPN), Dr Obiageli Ezekwesili, has apologised for what she described as an error of judgement in joining the party in her bid to become president.
Dr Ezekwesili tendered an apology while addressing a world press conference in Abuja on Monday.
“It has been an interesting one week since I made the tough but necessary decision to suspend my campaign for the presidency,” she was quoted as saying on Twitter. “I have been truly overwhelmed by the reactions to my announcement from Nigerians.”
She added, “I ask for the forgiveness and understanding of all who are hurt by my withdrawal from the race even as I take comfort in the fact that they would agree with my choosing to stand with my values rather than compromise.”
“Thank you to the young people who accepted and owned our campaign, to the women – my sisters and comrades – who worked and walked with me, to every believer and supporter from different tribes, states, religions and walks of life.”

The former minister said the accusation of fraud levelled against her by the party were laughable and alien to her character.
According to her, members of the ACPN were frustrated with her because they assumed being a former minister, she would have money stashed away or would use her global network to raise money for the party.
“One of the more laughable moments of the past week was hearing allegations that my presidential candidacy was a scheme to negotiate for a ministerial role. This is the height of political comedy, I must say,” she stated.
Ezekwesili disclosed further that her party card and other ACPN belongings in her possession have been returned to the party.
She said she was concerned about the position of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) that she cannot withdraw from the presidential race less than 45 days to the elections.
She thanked her campaign team, noting that they would be getting some much-needed rest after the struggle.
The former presidential candidate said, “Here are the facts that speak for themselves. Since I resigned as a cabinet minister in 2007, it is known that I have declined offers by different governments to serve as a minister again.”
“Why would I then go through the pains of launching a presidential campaign to negotiate for a role I last occupied twelve years ago and have thrice rejected since after?” she questioned.
Ezekwesili added, “Such mud-raking tactics is the reason why our best minds abstain from offering themselves up for political office thus leaving the worst of us to lead the rest.
“More hilarious was the accusation that I raised and looted campaign donations. It is only morally bankrupt politics that can make anyone even imagine such accusation against me.
“My absolute dedication to public accountability is widely known and no matter how much we had hoped to raise as campaign support from the public we designed an accounting system to go beyond the basic minimum of accountability required by the Electoral Act.”

Alleged Fraud: It’s Painful To Testify Against Fayose, Says Obanikoro

Channels Tv
A former Minister of State for Defence, Senator Musiliu Obanikoro, says it is painful and tough for him to testify against his friend and former Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose.
Senator Obanikoro said this while testifying in an alleged fraud case brought against Fayose before Justice Mojisola Olatoregun of a Federal High Court in Lagos.
“I am trying to restrain myself from saying things that will further damage my relation with him,” he said on testifying against Fayose.
The former minister added, “It’s very painful for me to give evidence against him, no doubt about that.”
Under cross-examination by the defence counsel, Olalekan Ojo, Obanikoro admitted that he had returned N200million to the Federal Government. He admitted that it was part of funds received from the Office of the National Security Adviser (ONSA) during the governorship election in Ekiti in 2014.
