The Nasarawa State House of Assembly Committee on Finance and Appropriation has faulted ministries, departments and parastatals in the state for lack of adherence to budgetary provision.
Chairman of the committee, Honourable Amos Agyas, made the remark while presenting a report at the floors of the red chambers.
He also frowned at the inadequate budget allocated to ministries, departments and agencies.
In his report, Agyas also described as partial, the autonomy enjoined by the four tertiary institutions: the Nasarawa State University, Keffi; the College of Education, Akwanga; the College of Agriculture, Lafia and the Nasarawa State Polytechnic, Lafia.
The lawmaker further decried deficiency in the release of funds by the state government in the 2016 budget, and called on Governor Tanko Al-Makura to fast track the implementation of the Treasury Single Account (TSA).
He urged the governor to look for means of improving the Internally Generated Revenue of the state, adding that the implementation of the TSA would block loopholes and close leakages.
“The fast tracking of the TSA would enable the state government generate IGR to the state,” he said.
Agyas, however, applauded the Governor Al-Makura for the execution of projects, especially in the areas of provision of potable drinking water, as well as construction of roads and bridges among others.
“The governor deserves a pass mark in the area of road construction, improvement in health care services and the accreditation of courses in tertiary institutions of learning,” he added.
