The Osun State Government has offered to pay parts of the remunerations it owed the civil servants and pensioners in the state.
The labour union in Osun State, south-west Nigeria, had embarked on an indefinite strike, demanding for payment of salaries and allowances owed them by the State Government.
Consequent to the industrial action, the State Government assured the civil servants and pensioners that it would pay them by end of June.
It was in this vein that the civil servants may now smile as the government had offered to pay the balance of November and December 2014 salaries to its workers, while the pensioners would get 50% of November pension.
The Osun State Head of Service, Mr Sunday Owoeye, said that the government was working round the clock to ensure that all the monies are paid.
While asking the workers to remain calm, the leadership of the Labour Union maintained that it was not ready to shift ground on the ongoing industrial action, noting that the payment fell below the expectations of the civil servants.
