The governing All Progressives Congress, is holding a meeting of its National Executive Committee at the party’s national secretariat in Abuja.
President Muhammadu Buhari, his vice, Yemi Osinbajo, all governors elected on the platform of the party, the leadership of the national assembly and a cross section of Senators and members of the House of Representatives are expected to attend.
Top on the agenda of the meeting is the crisis rocking the party since the election of Senate President and Speaker of the House of Representatives.
Bukola Saraki and Yakubu Dogara were elected to the two offices against the wishes of the party.
APC governors had also met last night to take a common position for today’s deliberation.
They also met with President Buhari last week who asked them to wade into the matter.
Already, Mr. Dogara, his deputy, Suleiman Lasun and governors of Yobe, Plateau and Ogun have arrived, while the deputy governors of Nasarawa, Borno and Bauchi are also around.

Security is tight around Blantyre Street, Abuja, where the APC's national office is located.
Over 100 personnel of the DSS, as well as soldiers and police, are positioned on the street, and within and outside the office block.
Military armoured vehicles are stationed at strategic locations in the area, while DSS marksmen are also atop high rise buildings nearby.
The security agents are however allowing flow of traffic, while those with proper accreditation are allowed into the APC secretariat without hassle.
